Library
Its mission is to meet, support and promote the educational and research activities of the academic community of Panteion University, within the framework of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of study offered by the Departments, while also contributing to the broader academic objectives and social role of the University.
To this end, the Library has fully automated its operations and continuously develops its print, electronic and digital collections, as well as its online services. At the same time, it participates in national and international cooperation networks, with a view to ensuring the most effective use of available information resources.
Since October 1991, the Library and Information Centre has undergone a process of reorganisation and modernisation. Five years later, through the use of programmes funded under the First and Second Community Support Frameworks, it evolved into a modern academic library, serving a large number of users and becoming one of the most active and vibrant spaces within the University.
It was, if not the first, certainly one of the first university libraries in Greece to implement the international model of a central university library, by bringing together its material — books and journals — from various reading rooms and individual libraries, and establishing centralised management and full oversight of its collections and services.”
