Σύντομο βιογραφικό

Ο Ιωάννης Κατερέλος γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα. Απέκτησε το πτυχίο του στο τμήμα Ψυχολογίας και Επιστημών της Αγωγής του Πανεπιστημίου της Προβηγκίας (Γαλλία), όπου απέκτησε το DEA και, τέλος, το διδακτορικό του με ειδίκευση στην Κοινωνική Ψυχολογία. Από το 1996 είναι τακτικό μέλος (καθηγητής) του τμήματος Ψυχολογίας (Πάντειο Πανεπιστήμιο). Κατά τη διάρκεια του 2008, ήταν προσκεκλημένος ερευνητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Καλιφόρνιας στο Λος Άντζελες. Τα επιστημονικά του ενδιαφέροντα εστιάζονται κυρίως στη δυναμική των κοινωνικών στάσεων/κοινωνικών αναπαραστάσεων, στη μη γραμμική κοινωνική δυναμική της συμπεριφοράς, στις κοινωνικές προσομοιώσεις, στη θεωρία της πολυπλοκότητας σχετικά με τις κοινωνικές επιστήμες και στη θεωρία των κοινωνικών δικτύων.
