Mobility in European Countries<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Outgoing Students for Studies<\/p>\n

Panteion University supports the mobility of a large number of students in proportion to its size, ranking among the leading Greek Higher Education Institutions in this field. This is a particularly encouraging indication for the future and further development of the Erasmus+ Programme at Panteion University, within the framework of the new era and the Erasmus Charter 2021\u20132027.<\/p>\n

The majority of outgoing students belong to the first cycle of studies. Students participating in the Erasmus+ Programme select agreements in fields of study related to their academic discipline, with the aim of ensuring the correspondence and recognition of courses successfully completed abroad.<\/p>\n

The relevant data show that the fields of study accounting for the majority of outgoing student mobility are Political Science, Social Sciences, Public Administration and Law.<\/p>\n

2. Incoming Students for Studies<\/p>\n

The number of incoming students at Panteion University is comparable to that of outgoing students, with the largest proportion belonging to undergraduate level. However, there is also a significant number of postgraduate students and doctoral candidates, who carry out research during their mobility period for the purposes of their dissertation or doctoral thesis.<\/p>\n

International students choose Panteion University because it offers courses taught in a foreign language, primarily English. The University also provides Erasmus+ students with the opportunity to study the academic fields it covers, with a particular focus on Sociology and the Social Sciences, as well as Political Science.<\/p>\n

3. Geographical Distribution of Study Mobility<\/p>\n

The geographical distribution of both outgoing and incoming mobility is concentrated mainly in Mediterranean and Central European countries. In particular, the majority of mobile students are linked to three Mediterranean countries: France, Italy and Spain.<\/p>\n

Among Central European countries, Germany and Poland are also selected by many Panteion University students for their Erasmus+ mobility. At the same time, a significant number of incoming students from these countries complete their mobility period at Panteion University.<\/p>\n

4. Outgoing Students for Erasmus+ Traineeships<\/p>\n

During the period 2016\u20132019, the Erasmus+ Placement Programme supported traineeships in Europe for 561 students of Panteion University, enabling them to gain professional experience in enterprises, organisations and other workplaces related to their field of study.<\/p>\n

Interest in the Programme continues to increase, as in many cases students remain with the host organisations as employees after completing their traineeship.<\/p>\n

In terms of mobility by country, Spain is the most popular destination, followed by Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Belgium. In the latter two countries, the Permanent Representations to the European Union accept a large number of trainees. Students\u2019 choices are primarily based on prospects for professional development and employment following the traineeship.<\/p>\n

As host organisations for their traineeships, students mainly select external services, such as embassies. Other choices are linked to their field of study, including enterprises in the fields of economics and marketing, humanitarian organisations for students of sociology and social policy, a variety of host organisations for psychology students, museums and cultural institutions for students of social anthropology or culture, and media organisations for students in the field of journalism.<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
